I've been using ranchcomputing and they work pretty well, but I was wondering if there's any other services I should try. Any render farms recommendations? They would need to support C4D and Octane.
I think we nearly used ORC on a job once but it didn't go very well, not sure what happened, I think our scenes were to big or something. Sorry not very helpful haha
RebusFarm is pretty good, I've used it a lot the past couple of years. I've had a couple of frames fail to render in very heavy scenes, but the support team have always resubmitted the frames when I've emailed them about it. I don't think it has support for Octane though. They do however support Redshift, if you want to work with a GPU renderer but don't mind switching from Octane.
I've seen some people using Rendsolve (https://www.rendsolve.com/) for Octane and C4D though, but I haven't had any personal experience with it.
A few years ago, I was doing more 3D work with Modo (very large files for print) for this project http://www.rafaelmacho.com/nyc-recycling
It was super easy and fast, and great price: https://us.rebusfarm.net/en/
