I am planning to do an "experimental" virtual group: I am looking for people who would be interested to participate in this alpha version.
Some of use work from home, or from an office. Sometimes it is challenging to know how our creative field is evolving.
I would like to organize a group, composed of 4-5 people with different backgrounds. We would meet every 2 weeks via GotoMeetings (or similar video conference) and discuss a topic for 60 minutes.
Topics could range from subject like, working as a freelancer and finding projects, raising a family and working, how to get better at what we do, etc.
The group would last for 4 month, following a syllabus. Each participant would need to prepare and lead a topic. The goal is to find a place, where people can talk comfortably, learn, build new bridges, and maybe make some new friends, in a positive and respectful way.
Project will start in mid or late August.
I had a coffee with Daniel Savage here in LA (Mixed.parts founder) recently to pitch this idea, hear his feedback. So I am posting it today.
I am wondering what you think about it?
