Recently I've been looking at TouchDesigner to be able to create (or at least understand) interactive installation. I'm fairly new, and I'm just following the tutorials provided with the software. But one thing that keeps impressing me is all the 'realtime' stuff. Adding effects and shaders on top of each other, running smoothly at 60fps on a mac laptop. Import a 4k video, add a blur, no problem, no preview = realtime playback.
I guess VJ are probably used to these process. I also see a lot of openframework animation around, creating complex effect, all in realtime..
Which makes me wonder why/how this is not more integrated in AE. How come do we still have to preview/render ?
Probably because of something technical I wouldn't understand... ;)
