I've been using Lottie and Bodymovin more and more for work and really love it for getting animations into apps. One thing that is not supported in native apps with Lottie is 3D shape layers. Not a huge deal until you want to add a little perspective or what not and have to rebuild and/or hand draw everything to get that simple Y rotation.
This made me wonder, is there a way to flatten or bake a shape layers transformation into the shape path itself? For example, if I have a simple rectangle and rotate it (X, Y, Z), is there a way to have that shape update it's path to draw the transformations as the shape, baking or flattening the 3D transformation into the shape itself?
Not sure if this makes sense, but this could be pretty useful in my opinion and wanted to see if there was any kind of solution to this. I did find this question asked on the Adobe forum a year or so ago and folks suggested auto tracing the layer, which kind of works, but not great. Figured I'd ask here as well.
