I saw a conversation about this ages ago. I’m having a lot of fun learning it and figuring out where it’s stronger than AE and where it’s weaker. Most of the tutorials online seem to be by people that make YouTube videos rather than “short films”, so I’m interested to see if anyone else is using it.
I’ve been posting experiments on twitter but I might actually start a blog for my experiments and the tutorials I found useful. It’s certainly a lot of fun! But also incredibly frustrating to troubleshoot when your heads in AE mode. (Also, after my experiments I decided the short I’m currently working on actually works better in a totally different style, so it’ll be interesting to see if that works with Moho...)
Hey Dan, I have been using commercially for years and it's really powerful! I learned from watching a lot of the Victor Parades Tutorials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=27&v=ohAVI5rvRRo
There has been talk of a new version, hopefully it's out soon. The Moho team has gone through a lot of changes lately...
Will Anderson uses it - Have Heart etc. I know a few people who have bought it but never got too far, and I think that is probably because it's not used in general commercial production. Seems way better than AE for rigged 2D work, but due to that lack of wide user base is kind of silo'd into indies like Cartoon Saloon who don't need to collaborate outside their walls. Maybe it'll be right up your street ;)
