The people at mograph.com and a few friends of theirs hosted this awesome event last weekend in North Hero, Vermont (near Montreal... very far north). About 75 of us gathered at a YMCA campground, a classic summer camp like the one in Salute Your Shorts. Right off the bat this was a unique conference. No computers and minimal phone usage. Just a bunch of creative people on a campground doing archery, canoeing, playing games, and having a good time around a campfire. A few 'big shots' in the industry were there to give talks in the evening, but again, with no computers and no PowerPoint. There was also an 'open mic' type of setup during those evening fireside chats where anyone can start talking and bring up questions or concerns about the industry. A sort of roundtable discussion. Great conversations and great people overall! I highly recommend this next time. They're planning on doing it at various locations in the US, not just Vermont.
Conferences like Blend are amazing in their own right, this was just a bit different, more hands-on with less technology and much smaller numbers.
Just wanted to bring this up in case anyone was on the fence about it or wants to know more about it.
