I'm TJ Kearney, the EP and Co-Founder here at Oddfellows. Although I don't claim to be an expert in anything, I have spent the last 15 years making every mistake imaginable. So I'm here to answer any questions you may have and to hopefully shed some light on how to avoid some of those same mistakes I made along the way.
A little background on me: I started out back in high school making videos for local bands, which led to me connecting with Tom Delonge and his shoe company Macbeth. Through college, I created ads for Macbeth and went on tour with the various bands they sponsored to shoot and edit tour documentaries. With a client in place, I formed my first production company with Adam Patch and Devin Whetstone. Together we went on to direct and produce music videos for a number of years. During that time I made sure to surround myself with people who were more talented than me so that I could learn from them. As a result, I quickly realized I enjoyed putting talented teams together and supporting creatives. This lead me to switch gears and take an internship under an EP at a vfx/telecine house called Spy Post. There I got to work on everything from Taylor Swift music videos, to Apple ads, to features like Iron Man and Avatar. Eventually, though, I realized the money was in advertising, so I left to become an EP at Goodby Silverstein & Partners. The lack of work/life balance wasn't sustainable though, so I left and took a chance with Chris & Colin on forming our own thing. Boom. Oddfellows.
I'll be around all week to keep the conversation going and to answer any questions you may have.
